SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
Energy-efficiency is one of the most important issues of the modern-day and future computing and communication systems. Due to the importance of power and energy consumption in these systems various techniques have been investigated and developed. However, these solutions should be able to provide good performance and to cope under an increased workload demand. Moreover, the solutions should be able to preserve or even increase its efficiency when the number of resources increases.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in addressing challenging issues related to scalable solutions for power and energy consumption optimization in large-scale parallel and distributed computing, ambient computing, information technology and communication systems. The workshop covers all energy-efficient related topics of scalable solutions. Both theoretical papers and papers describing practical experiences are welcome.
The Workshop topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:
- Scalability of energy-efficient solutions on large-scale parallel and distributed systems, information technologies and communication
- Optimization of energy-efficient protocols/algorithms
- Green

SUBMISSIONS PROCESS
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers electronically. Submitted manuscript should be a maximum of 8 pages in length, following the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Style, using two-column, single-space format, with 10-point font size, including figures and references. The PC chairs will automatically reject oversized papers. Submitted papers may not have appeared in, or simultaneously be under consideration for, another conference or workshop, or for a journal. Authors should submit the manuscript in PDF format via email to the Workshop organizers at johnatan.pecero@uni.lu, cesar.diaz@uni.lu.
Only PDF files will be accepted. All papers will be reviewed (with a minimum of three reviews per paper) by the workshop International Program Committee members following similar criteria used in SCALCOM and CIT. Papers will be judged based on correctness, originality, significance, technical strength, quality of presentation, and interest and relevance to the workshop scope. Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their papers will be registered and presented at the workshop. All accepted papers will be published by IEEE Computer Society in the proceedings of SCALCOM 2011 and CIT 2011. Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in a special edition of the Journal of Cluster Computing (Springer).
For any questions about paper submission or related to the workshop feel free to contact the workshop organizers.
