Workshope scope

The central topic of the workshop deals with all aspects of scalability on energy-efficient solutions for large-scale parallel and distributed systems, including mobile and wireless computing, internet-based computing, multi-core and GPU architectures and all kinds of information technology and communication systems.

The topics to be covered include but are not limited to:

  • Scalability of energy-efficient solutions on large-scale parallel and distributed systems, information technologies and communication;
  • Green design scalability in the CLOUDS (Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems);
  • Green high density computing and ambient (ubiquitous) computing;
  • Virtualization techniques for energy-efficiency in large scale distributed systems;
  • Algorithm designs for energy-efficient scalable solutions;
  • Energy-aware scalable resource allocation and dynamic load balancing;
  • Energy-aware scheduling;
  • Energy-efficient scalable solutions for network services and operations;
  • Energy-efficient scalable solutions for internet-based computing and applications;
  • Network models and simulation modules/tools for energy efficient solutions;

Authors are encouraged to submit original, unpublished research or overviews on scalable solutions on all aspects of GreenIT. Manuscripts should be limited to 6 pages in the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript style, using two-column, single-space format, with 10-point font size, including figures and references. The contribution should be submitted through the EasyChair Conference System. Accepted papers that are presented at the workshop will be published by IEEE Computer Society in the proceedings of SCALCOM-12. At least one of the authors of each accepted paper must register early to attend the conference, in order for the paper to appear in the conference proceedings. Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in a special edition of Journal of Cluster Computing - Springer (pending).
